Elmer T. Smith, Rochelle, IL, formerly of the Magnolia area, died at St. Anthony's Hospital, Rockford, IL, Thursday, November 16, 1972, at 8:30 a.m. He had been
hospitalized three days.
Visitation was Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Unger Funeral Home in Rochelle, IL. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Magnolia Methodist Church. Burial was in the First Lutheran Cemetery #2 at Varna, IL.
Born October 13, 1888 in Marshall County, he was a son of
William and Maria Smith. He was married January 10, 1912 to Miss Edna Phillips
He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one grandchild.
He was a farmer all of his life, retiring five years ago.
