Fletcher (Staff) -- William O[scar] Akers, 84, a resident of Fletcher[, Oklahoma] since 1942, died [on] Saturday [30 Apr 1960] in a Cyril[, Oklahoma] hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 pm [on] Tuesday [03 May 1960] in [the] Fletcher[, Oklahoma] First Methodist Church. Rev. Frank Jones will officiate, assisted by Rev. Perry Sanders. Burial will be in [the] Fletcher Cemetery under the direction of Dalton Funeral Home.

Born [on] July 30 1875 in Chico, Tex[as], Mr. Akers married Mertle Gibson in 1899 in Fox[, Oklahoma]. The family moved to Fletcher[, Oklahoma] from Oklahoma City[, Oklahoma]

He is survived by his wife of the home; five sons: Bud Akers [of] Sanger, Tex[as], Leroy Akers [of] San Jose, Cal[ifornia], Henry Akers [of] Oklahoma City[, Oklahoma], John Akers [of] Dougherty[, Oklahoma], and Clyde Akers [of] Davis[, Oklahoma]; for daughters: Mrs. Rosa Parrish, Mrs. Hershal Beach, and Mrs. Ford Bowen, all of Fletcher[, Oklahoma], and Mrs. Edna Wagenschutz [of] Millford Mich[igan]; one sister: Mrs. Flora Davis [of] Daugherty[, Oklahoma]; 30 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
