The Dennstedts emigrated in 1853 on the Ship "Ella" from Bremen. On the ship's passenger list their place of residence/origin was "Frankenhausen" and their name was spelled "Dennstedt." On passenger list she is listed as Marie.

The "OLD WORLD" of spelling of both her names is used on her stone, but she went by the name Christina Denstaedt. From the old spelling, the last name was Americanized to Densteadt or Denstaedt, Dinstead and many other variations.

No matter how you spell it, they are all related

"Christina was 62 yrs 3 mths old and died of "Liver complaint" at German Street in Detroit, Michigan." The death date & above information came from the cemetery records. The information stands "as is" as it is the only records we have. Sorry, if they do not add up!

One daughter who shows up on the ship manifest is "christina
