Born in Stockton, California, Betty was the daughter of the late Clarence E. and Goldie May Gulley Seyler. She was Baptist by faith.
Surviving are six sons, Charles Robert Miller, Jr. (Kathy), Dwayne Journey Abbott, Sr. (Christine) and Larry Abbott, all of Davenport, Iowa, Joseph Allen Miller of Buffalo, Minn., Michael Edward Miller (Traci) of Moundsville, and Jeffrey William Abbott (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Jane Marie Straw and Emma Francis Abbott, both of Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Lilly Mae Logston of Cincinnati, Iowa, Helen Virginia White of Wheeling, and Shirley Louise Varese of Pennsboro, WV; 24 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
