U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Harvard University, in 1899, from the same institution law department, in 1902, was admitted to the bar in 1903 and opened a legal firm in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a member of the Missouri State House of Representatives, (1907-09). In 1911, he presented credentials as a Republican Member-elect to the Sixty-second Congress and served until 1912, when he was succeeded by Patrick F. Gill, who contested the election. After leaving Congress, he was the board of directors of St. Louis Union Trust Company and resumed the practice of law until his death at age 81.
