Walenty was born in Rzeszow, Poland and was the son of Saturnin Majka and Magdalena Majka (nee Kmiec). In 1905 at the age of 15 he immigrated to Baltimore. He married Marianne Mach and had four children, Bernard, Bronislawa, Josephine and Boleslaus. Walenty worked as a tailor and was President of the Baltimore Unit of the Polish National Alliance.
