Mike Wesley Huitt's real name was Wesley Delow Huitt; he was nicknamed "Mike" after an Irishman who worked at the Huitt sawmill and logging camp in Doniphan, MO. He married Ollie Minnie Dye Huitt under the name of Mike Huett in Ripley County, MO, on July 28, 1897.

Their children are: Fred O. Huitt and Wilburn Richard "Dick" Huitt (both buried at this cem.), Wallace "Skin" Huitt (buried at Ft. Gibson Nat. Cem.), Henry Huitt, Maude Huitt White (buried at Holland, Tahlequah, OK), Nancy Huitt Robertson (Marks) Marcinkevicius (buried at Memorial Park, Muskogee, OK), Myrtle Huitt Bowden (buried at Agnew Cem.), Beatrice Huitt Hendricks (buried at Hendricks Cem., Tahlequah, OK), Mae Huitt Dawes, and Jacqueline Huitt (Stills) Cottingham (buried at Holland Cem.).

His father and mother were John Wesley Huitt of MO and Martha Shipton (Whitehead) Huitt.

He had two sisters: Maude Huitt Hamilton, and Mattie Huitt (Clay) Hancock; and one brother--Benne Huitt who died as a teenager and buried in Hancock Cemetery in Doniphan, MO.

He also had the following half-siblings (whose mother was Mary/Eliza Jane Coleman): John G. Huitt, Henrietta Huitt, Samuel A. Huitt, James Russell Hewitt (old spelling), Heseen B. Huitt, Harvey E. Huitt, Andrew Huitt, and Mary Jane Huitt Martin, and one half-brother Frank Whitehead whose mother was Martha Shipton Whitehead Huitt and whose father was Sam Whitehead.
