Mother: Bridget "Biddie" Dailey Hines (1826-1904)
Mrs. Margaret Hines Sweeney, wife of Dominick Sweeney, died at the family home on Fink Creek, Saturday evening at 8 o'clock as a result of Apoplexy. She had been ill only three days. The deceased was born in Harrison County, March 17, 1859, a daughter of John and Bridget Hines, both natives of Ireland. Slightly over 50 years ago she was united in marriage to Dominick Sweeney, and only a few weeks ago she and her husband celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Mrs. Sweeney has resided on Fink Creek for many years and bore the respect and esteem of a wide circle of neighbors and friends. Besides her husband, Dominick Sweeney, one of the most substantial farmers of his neighborhood, Mrs. Sweeney is survived by the following children: J. C. "John" Sweeney of Leopold; M. M. "Miles" Sweeney of Fink; Mrs. Ellen Brown of St. Clara; Mrs. Margaret Wanstreet of Leopold; and Mrs. Bridget Stark of Alum Bridge. One sister, Mrs. Mary Hurst of Auburn, and one brother, Frank Hines of Elm Grove, also survive. Funeral services were conducted from St. Mary's Catholic Church at Fink, Monday morning at 10 o'clock, requiem high mass being read by the Rev. Father John Halpin, parish priest. Burial was made in the cemetery nearby. A large concourse of friends gathered to pay final tribute to a most estimable woman called to everlasting rest.
