Obituary from the Weston Democrat Friday October 20, 1911: Jacob Gissy died suddenly at his home at Alum Bridge last Thursday, aged 73 years. Mr. Gissy was born at Province, France, and came to this country in early manhood, finally settling in this section in 1867. Forty years ago he married Miss Rebecca Kraus, who survives, together with three sons and two daughters. One son is Joseph Gissy of this city. Funeral service at the Alum Bridge Catholic Church Saturday, and interment at the Leading Creek Catholic Cemetery.
Article from the Weston Democrat Friday July 12, 1907: Mr. Jacob Gissy of Alum Bridge, native of Algiers, France, immigrated to this this country in 1867. He landed in New York February 16, and on July 4 of the same year, came to Weston. Has been a resident of Lewis County ever since.
