MRS. DAVID L. SOVINE IS CALLED BY DEATH
DEATH CLAIMS RESPECTED HONDURAS RESIDENT AT 10 O'CLOCK SUNDAY A.M.
Mrs. David L. Sovine, for 71 years a resident of Honduras, died at 10 o'clock Sunday morning after an extended illness. In the death of Mrs. Sovine, the Honduras community loses one of its most beloved citizens. Besides mothering a large family, Mrs. Sovine was able to participate in many community activities, so that a wide circle of friends realized her worth.
Born in Mahoning County, Ohio, August 26, 1851, Alice Houck Sovine, daughter of Henry and Nancy Cronk Sovine, was 72 years, 11 months, and 7 days old at the time of her death. She was less than two years old when she came with her parents to Adams County. Her marriage to David L. Sovine took place September 1, 1872, in French Township. The celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary two years ago.
Surviving besides the husband are the following children; Henry Sovine, Sturgis, Mich.; D. V. Sovine, Bunker Hill, Ind.; Alva Sovine, Jonesboro, Ind.; Robert K. Sovine, Honduras, Mrs. Urban Hawk, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. William Michael Jr., Monroe. Two children, Otto and Jesse May, are deceased. A brother, Geo. M. T. Houck, lives at Peterson. Brothers and sisters deceased are Mary Roeges, Curtis Houck, Anna Bowman, Rose Houck and Effie Stoutenberry. Nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild mourn her death.
Mrs. Sovine was a member of the Zion Church. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Honduras church, with burial in the Honduras Cemetery. Rev. Gleason will have charge of the service.
