Herbert Carey, 68, of Crescent City died Friday, September 17, 1999, at Putnam Community Medical Center.
He was born August 8, 1931, and was a native of Crescent City. He was a member of New Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church of Crescent City.
Survivors are his devoted wife, Eloise Carey of Crescent City; loving children, Dennis Carey (Gwen) of Armstrong, Fla., Cathy Carey of Welaka, Michele Carey of Crescent City, Keith Carey (LaWanda) of Tampa and Kandis Carey of Crescent City; sisters, Erma Lee Peterson of Apopka, Willia Mae Carey of Apopka and Johnie M. Wilson of Orlando; brothers, Addison C. Carey Jr. of New Orleans, La, and Dowdell Evans Carey of Hawthorne; mother-in-law, Hessie McNair of Crescent City; brothers-in-law, O. H. McNair of Deltona, James McNair of Fayetteville, N.C. and Paul Anderson of Seville; sisters-in-law, Mamie Simmons of Pomona Park, Clara Carey of New Orleans, La., Rosa L. Funeral service will be Saturday, 11 a.m. at New Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church in Crescent City. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Crescent City with Rev. E. L. Yorker officiating.
