Loismae "Pat" was born October 16, 1923 to George and Lois (Tew) Pattee at Alto, Wisconsin. After graduating from Waupun (Wisconsin) High School, she became a teacher. In 1945, she joined the Women's Army Corps (WACS) and was assigned to Percy Jones Rehabilitation Hospital at Battle Creek, Michigan as a speech therapy instructor. There she discovered a new profession and a future husband.
Her interest in helping people communicate better was sparked and she earned a B.S. degree in Speech Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Marriage to veteran Harry E. Weilage took place on September 3, 1949. The couple soon moved to the family farm near Morton. She worked as a Speech Therapist for the Redwood, Morton, Morgan and Belview school districts. Pat was a pioneer in the field of special education serving many children and adults through the years. She retired in 1984 after 38 years of teaching.
Pat's love of learning was enduring as was her interest in the world around her. She enjoyed farm life, nature, animals, travel, gardening, books, crafts and was an avid sports fan. She was an active volunteer for her community, church, and veterans organizations.
Leaving the farm in 2000, Pat lived in an apartment at Boulder Estates in Marshall until 2007 when she moved to Central MN Senior Care. She became a resident of Minneota Manor in Minneota in October 2008. These three sites gave her much comfort and many friends.
She was most proud of her family: son Harry G. Weilage and wife Jaen of Marshall and their children Drew, Laurel and Hope; and son Terry E. Weilage and wife Holly of Morton and their children Michael, Jeffrey, Blake and Abbey. Also surviving is brother Bob (Carol) Pattee and sister-in-law Joyce Pattee of Waupun, Wisconsin., and many cousins, nieces and nephews . Traveling ahead of her on life's journey were her husband Harry in 1991, brothers Lee, Bill, Ed and infant sister Margie. Pat's wish is a reminder to treasure each and every moment the Savior gives you.
