Nancy Sauer was born in Eureka, Harris County, Texas, to John and Kate (Fanger) Ojemann, both from the Hanover region of Germany. Her father died in 1848 and her mother, Kate, remarried to Henry Vollmer. Both her parents are buried in Vollmer-Niemann Cemetery, her father being the first burial there.

Nancy married Conrad Wlliam Sauer, an immigrant from Hanover, Germany, on December 7, 1871 and they lived near where Mangum Park is located today. (Bio info provided by David Hornburg)
