Edna Polly (Frazier) Ramey Darnell

FT. BLACKMORE, Va. — Edna Polly Darnell, 62, Ft. Blackmore, Va., went to be with Lord on Monday (Sept. 1, 2008) at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Born in Scott County, Va., on March 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Elcaner Frazier and Sadie Darnell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Ramey; son, Billy Ramey; sisters, Molly, Elizabeth and Gelottie Frazier; brothers, Howard and James Frazier; her special son-in-law, Ricky Rhoton, Sr.; and a special brother-in-law, Charles Ray Darnell.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret McDavid and husband, Tony, Deborah Babb and fiancé, Kenny Karr, Virginia Haber and husband, Ricky, all of Ft. Blackmore, Va.; grandchildren, Ricky Rhoton, Jr., Cody McDavid, Melinda Babb, Jordan Harber and Tracy Graham; step-grandson, Dustin McDavid; step great-grandson, Andrew McDavid; sisters, Alice Darnell, Ruth Frazier and Joella Carter, all of Ft. Blackmore, Va., Emily Maness, Surgoinsville; brother, Lawton Frazier, Ft. Blackmore, Va.; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Gate City Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Kyle Akers officiating.

Music will be provided by the Lee Smith Singers.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cox Chapel Cemetery, Mabe, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12 noon Friday to go in procession to the graveside service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
