Keith Bohannon, who retired as Cookeville City Judge June 30 of this year, died yesterday, August 2, in a Nashville hospital.
Judge Bohannon, 81, spent 16 years as Cookeville City Judge. He took office on July 1, 1965. Upon his recent retirement, he was honored by Cookeville City officials
wih a plaque and a special commendation for outstanding service from the Cookeville City Council. Prior to becoming city judge, Judge Bohannon served as an assistant US District Attorney.
He was a native of Cookeville, the son of the late William Hopkins and Stella Holsapple Bohannon.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mable Hix Bohannon, and a sister, Mrs. J. Howard Marshall of Houston, Texas.
Funeral services for Judge Bohannon will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday August 5, in the First United
Methodist Church. Rev. Roy J. West and Rev. Maurice Moore will officiate, with burial following in Cookeville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Huddleston Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
