As a young girl Tamara and her mother, in fear for their lives, fled to China. While there she met a handsome American and married at the American Consulate in Ch'lng-Tao, Shan-Tung, China in 1937. They had one child, believed to be male in Manila while stationed there in Jan 1939. The child is buried there.
While stationed in Long Beach, CA in 1940 they had Tanya Diana Warren, their only surviving child. Tanya died in 2003 and her ashes were spread at sea at Montana De Oro, San Luis Obispo, CA.
