Thelma Hendrix Rogers, 98, Lexington, died Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Richmond Place. She was born May 5, 1912, in Bath County. She was a graduate of Ripley (Ohio) High School and Fugazzi Business College, Lexington. She came to Lexington in 1932 and was employed at H. Rudig and Sons Paint and Glass and Community Financial Services before moving to Bardstown, Kentucky in 1953 to establish, co-own and manage Bardstown Finance Company with Marion F. Frye. In Bardstown she was active in the Chamber of Commerce and was a founding member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension. She returned to Lexington in 1997 following her retirement. She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred Taylor and Pearl Goodpaster Hendrix; five brothers; four sisters; a foster brother; and a daughter-in-law, Sally O. Rogers.

Survivors include a son, Bob G. (Ann), Lexington; two grandchildren, Jeffery O. (Kathy) Rogers, Burlington, and Ellen R. (Doug) Rohs, Cincinnati; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ashley Rogers, Burlington, and Michael and Max Rohs, Cincinnati. And several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Good Shepherd with burial in Lexington Cemetery. The Rev. Elise B. Johnstone officiated.

Visitation is 10-11:15 a.m. Saturday at the church. Contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Memorial Fund, 533 East Main St., Lexington, KY 40508. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home-Main St., is in charge of arrangements
