Memories from Cliff (son)
Now the way that we ended up in Texas. Amos, (dad) lost his job during the depression and moved to South East Texas in the Beaumont - Port Arthur area. I think we moved around to several area. Geneva I think was born in Vinton, Louisiana. I was born in Beaumont, Texas. I don't remember where Germaine was born. When I was in the second grade, Dad got his job back, so Mom and Dad, Germaine, Cliff and Geneva moved back to Eunice where Dad has his home and property. Amos Ernest Jr. (junior, first born) and the twin sisters, Irma & Norma, were out of school and remained in Port Arthur cause they were working in Port Arthur. Eventurely they got married. Norma and her husband, Homer A. Simmons, rented a place right across Proctor street in front of " Port Arthur College " which is a branch of " Lamar University " in Beaumont. When Germaine graduated from High school, she went to Port Arthur College cause mom and pop only had to pay for books. Then she went back to Eunice. When I finished school I also went to Port Arthur College and took book keeping and jr. accounting. When I left College I got a job in Port Arthur and settled down in this area.
