Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Arthur LeJeune, 70, a native and lifelong resident of Iota, who died at 11 a.m. April 26th at Gary Memorial Hospital in Breaux Bridge. Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home of Iota was in charge of arrangements with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by five sons, Herbert LeJeune of Evangeline, Gaflin LeJeune of Jennings, Arthur LeJeune, Jr of LaPorte, Texas, Durlin J LeJeune and Russell LeJeune both of Eunice; one daughter, Mrs. James Frey of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Mayus LeJeune of Iota, Claude LeJeune of Jennings and Levy LeJeune of Holmwood; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Fontenot of Lake Charles, Mrs. Anna Louvierre of Jennings, Mrs. Hilda Ardoin of Hathaway, 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Mr. LeJeune was a retired city employee of Iota and a member of the Knights of Columbus of Iota.
