MRS. PATTIE BAUGHN JOHNSON

Mrs. Pattie Baughn Johnson, age 92, of Ozark, died August 31, 2010, at her home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, September 3, 2010, at the Ozark Church of Christ with Minister Glenn VanZandt and Minister Steve Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Her body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 25, 1918 in Lynn, Alabama to the late William Albert and Nancy C. Rose Baughn. She attended school in Double Springs, Alabama. After attending business school in Birmingham, she moved to Ozark where she met and married her late husband, Lt. Col. (U. S. Army Retired) Joseph Sidney Johnson. They were married for 55 years. They lived in various places including Europe during his military service. She was an active, faithful member of Ozark Church of Christ, where she supported mission efforts in Africa and Taiwan. She was also an avid supporter of Amridge University in Montgomery, Alabama. She was retired from the Department of Human Resources in Ozark. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed reading, needlework, and assembling jig saw puzzles. She was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Joseph Sidney Johnson, a daughter, Pamela J. Johnson, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Patty J. Shaw (Mike) of Omaha, Nebraska, Peggy J. Bailey (Don) of Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy J. Foster (Steve) of Fort Deposit, Alabama;
four grandchildren, Rebecca Foster, Trav Foster, Alison Shaw, and Blair J. Bailey.
She was lovingly cared for by Peggy Jamison, JoAnn Bell, Valeen Shaw, Susan Stubbs, and Tina Foster.
