Neppie Godwin, was the only child of Frank Godwin & Ella Pittman. Frank died and Ella married a Mr. Jones, a widower, who had a son Walter Jones. Walter married Neppie when she was only 14 year old. They had several children. Walter died when Neppie was around 30 years old.. She then married a widower, Jerry F. Crumpler from Belfast, Wayne County, North Carolina. Jerry's father, Wiley is buried here in Kenly Cemetery. Jerry had older children from his previous marriage too. (Believe his previous wife is buried in the Kenly Cemetery, here name might be Delia.
Jerry & Neppie had five children. Two died as infants. One baby is buried next to them. Another is buried in the cemetery that is on the grounds of the Kenly Baseball Complex. Holly Crumpler's father was born when Jerry was 60 years old.
Holly informs the writer that the families live in the surrounding Kenly areas and some half siblings live in Virginia The old surviving son of Neppie and Walter lives in Nevada. A daughter, Verlie, is buried in Kenly Cemetery, Yvonne is buried in Holly Springs FWB Church Cemetery. The plot next to Baby Crumpler is Holly's brother, Garry Crumpler, who died in 2010.
Holly lives in Alabama.
