`Elbert lived a very long and productive life, he was 102 years old when he died. (He lived in three centuries, 1899, 1900, 2001)

Mr. St. John retired as an executive of Kansas Gas and Electric Company after 43 years of service in the south-central and southeastern Kansas. In 1972, he served as an executive volunteer with Korea Electric Co., as a member of the International Executive Service Corps in Seoul, Korea.

He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church since coming to Wichita in 1921, Midian Shrine Temple, Wichita Consistory, Jamestown, Ohio Lodge 352, where he recently received his 80 year membership recognition, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Prime Movers, Professional Engineers, Retired Professional and Business Men's Club, Cosmopolitan, where he was a past president of the local organization and The American Legion.

Wichita, Kansas, and the surrounding area have a strong and sound electrical system, thanks to the effort of Elbert D. St. John.

Preceded in death by wife, Pearl St. John; daughter, Carlene St. John; brothers, Maj. Gen. Clement St. John, Ivan St. John; and sister Edith Collins.
