When Bud returned home from the war in 1945 and he married Velma Louise Jackson and started civilian life in Long Beach, CA where he and Velma had 4 children: Pamela, Sandra, Daniel Winchester and Roy Alexander Eads.
After his discharge from the Navy he worked for the IRS as an auditor while studying for his degree in accounting. Always a good student, he received his Bachelor's Degree from USC and after working many years in the accounting field he retired from The Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo, CA.
Cathedral City was home to Bud for the last 20 years of his life. He had never been seriously ill or in the hospital in 86 years. He was buried with full military honors at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA on February 26, 2010 with his family present.
