Brother Merritt Dickson, Sr. was born to Mr.and Mrs. John Dickson, August 29, 1912 in Clarksville, Texas. His parents preceded him in death. He received his early education and religion in his home town. He has lived in Fresno, California for the past 34 years.

He was married to the former Lula Hannah in Oklahoma, and to this union eight children were born, two of them preceding him in death. He was a member of the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene. He departed this life November 19, 1979 in Fresno, California.

He leaves to mourn his passing his devoted wife, Mrs. Lula Dickson of Fresno, California; four sons, Quincey Dickson, Merritt Dickson, Jr. and Larry Dickson of Fresno, California, and Sgt. Michael Dickson, Rank E-5 with the Army, stationed in Ft. Lewis, Washington; two daughters, Sheila Dickson of Long Beach, California,and Venita Dickson of Fresno, California; two brothers, Calvin Dickson of Carsbell,New Mexico and Wesley Dickson of Los Angeles, California; one sister, Mrs. Elsie Edwards of Choctau, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers: Roy Simmons, Louis Simmons, Jerry Burdom, Roy Reynolds, Quille Frazier and Isaac Sykes.

Services held on Saturday, November 24, 1979, at 10:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, Fresno, California.
