"A Genealogy Of The Clark Family" by Henry William Clark, Montgomery, Alabama, 1905, provides the following information:

Judith Clark was born October 15, 1825 and was united in marriage at the residence of her parents in Chambers County, Ala., to Frederick Bowling. Mr. Bowling was born July 10, 1822, and died June 10, 1864. Mr. Bowling's life business was farming. They resided in Chambers County, Ala. Mr. Bowling was in the Confederate States Army and was wounded in battle in Virginia; was in a hospital two months; was sent home and died in ten days after reaching home. In the matter of religious faith he and his wife were Baptist. They were well-to-do people; owned a good farm and about thirty slaves, the latter being emancipated as a result of the war. After the death of Mr. Bowling the widow married John M. Phillips, about 1865. She is still living (1903) and resides at Buckner, Arkansas. She is the only living child of William and Judith Clark.
