PAUL LAMOREAUX
AGE: 94 TOMS RIVER
Paul Lamoreaux, 94, of Toms River, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010.
Born June 1, 1916, he grew up in Pennsylvania.
He joined the United States Army to fight in World War II.
He graduated the Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania with high honors, receiving the gold key award.
Afterward, Paul and his wife Randi moved to Little Falls, New Jersey to raise a family. He worked for Public Service Electric and Gas for thirty years, retiring in Toms River so he could be close to his grandchildren.
Beloved husband, father, and poppy; Paul is survived by Randi, his wife of 59 years, his brother, three daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
The patriarch of the family, Paul never missed an opportunity to be involved in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a brilliant storyteller, an avid coin collector, and successful stock trader.
Paul was generous, gentle and kind but also candid; he was never afraid to tell anyone exactly how he felt. Although he is gone, Paul still lives on in the memories of those he leaves behind. Paul is remembered in the songs he sang, in the advice he gave, in the example he set. He is remembered as a man who would do anything for his family. The world lost a truly selfless man.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Paul's life will be held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. until the Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. Immediately following, Military Honors will take place at Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
Mr. Lamoreaux was originally interred in plot KS 10782, but was re-interred in Z6 1090 when his wife passed away.
