One-Week Illness
Mrs. Frank Carpenter, 78, the former Kathryn Pommerich of this city, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfied Wednesday after a one-week illness. The daughter of the late Herman and Margaret Arenz Pommerich was born here Sept. 28, 1886. She married Mr. Carpenter here on Feb. 3, 1909.
In 1918, she and Mr. Carpenter moved to Withee and lived there until 1924 when they moved to Abbotsford. After his death in 1945, she moved to Colby and has lived there for the last seven years.
Her parents, as well as her husband, preceded her in death.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Arlyn Brunkhorst, Abbotsford, Mrs. Leonard Vandehey, Auburndale, Mrs. William Young, Colby, and Mrs. Myron Kramer, city; two sons, Clarence, of Abbotsford, and Frank, Colby; 30 grandchildren; and 50 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Colby and burial took place in the parish cemetery there.
