When W. E. Hawthorne plotted a small addition on the north side of Granville, Illinois, he named one street "Elizabeth Street," in memoriam to his wife, Emma's, infant sister. The north-south Elizabeth St. is just two blocks long and intersects with two other family named streets, the east-west Opper and Edward Streets. Opper was the maiden name of W. E.'s wife, and Edward the name of his youngest son. There is a fourth street named for the family—the north-south Hawthorne.
