Amy Grossnickle, the sixth child of her parents, Gillian and Sarah Grossnickle, was born November 2nd, 18678, at Des Moines, Iowa. She came to Kansas with her parents, two brothers and three sisters. They settled on a farm south and west of Onaga.

Amy attended public school in the Rolling Prairie Rural District. She also attended the State College at Manhattan, Kansas; Kansas State Teacher's College at Hays, Kansas; was graduated from the Stenographic department of the Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Nebr.; and attended Decker's Business College at Portland, Oregon.

She was a teacher in the rural schools of Pottawatomie County for 12 years and was a Commercial teacher in the High Schools of Montana for 16 years. She also taught in Caton's School of Business, Median, N. Y.; Grand Island Business College, Grand Island, Nebr.; Links Business College, Boise, Idaho; and Blairs Business College, Spokane, Wash. She was a teacher for 44 years. She was a member of the Onaga Congregational Church.

Miss Grossnickle retired in 1932. Since then she had lived in Onaga with her sister Clara and her brother Seth. After her brother passed away, she and her sister lived alone.

She is survived by her sister, Clara of Onaga and a brother, Sam of Topeka; and one niece, Mrs. Susie Bottom of Onaga.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Tessendorf Chapel, conducted by Dr. T. C. Hinkle, and burial was in the Onaga Cemetery.
