Mrs. Apple, was born October 27, 1887 in Sandborn, the daughter of John and Mariah J. Kerns Sanders. She was a member of the Sandborn United Methodist Church and Rebekah Lodge of Sandborn. She had operated the Sandborn Telephone Company switch-board for many years before her retirement. She was married to Walter Jacob Killion on October 3, 1903 and he died on September 27, 1925.
Survivors include the husband Carl Cicero Apple to whom she was married on October 27, 1928; nine children, Walter Killion of Sandborn, Mrs. Mable Rhodes of Evansville, Mrs. Violet Bugher, Mrs. Ruby Puckett, Ralph Apple and Roy Apple all of Sandborn, Mrs. Florence Glass of Vincennes, Mrs. Bonnie McKee of Anderson and Miss Patricia Mae Apple at home; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Two children, 3 sisters and 2 brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at the Ives Poindexter Funeral Home at Sandborn at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Jack Fehrman officiating. Burial will be made in the Sandborn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
