Konstanin/Constantin Boesch (1819–1889)

Konstantin Boesch was born 1 May 1819 in the area now known as Baden-Württemberg, Germany, possibly the son of David Boesch and Magdalena Zimmerman. In 1842 he married Klara Gutmann; they were the parents of seven known children born and baptized in Baden-Württemberg, five of whom died in infancy.

About 1854 Konstantin, Klara and their two surviving children, Adeline and Joseph, immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago; no records of their arrival have been found. In the US Konstantin became Constantine (or Constantin) and Klara became Clara Goodman Boesch (sometimes Bush or Busch). There three more children were born, one of whom also died in infancy.

Constantin was, at various times, a blacksmith, laborer, and potter. The family lived for a number of years at 666 S. Halsted street in Chicago.

Constantin died 21 Aug 1889 at the age of 70. He was buried at Forest Home Cemetery, sometimes known as Waldheim German Cemetery.
