TERRELL - Funeral services for former Greenville resident Carrye Latimer Ablowich were conducted Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home, with burial in Oakland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Ablowich died in her home Monday.
She was born in Clarksville on Jan. 21, 1904, to John R. and Ida Stark Latimer. The family moved to Terrell in 1919, and she graduated from Terrell High School in 1922. In 1927 she married Dave Ablowich Jr. who had been reared in Hunt County. She and her husband lived in Greenville from 1925 until the late 1960s, and she was a member of the Thomas Wynn Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, Eclecta Club and the City Federation of Women's Clubs. She also lived in Nebraska and California before returning to Terrell in 1969.
Survivors include five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972, and by a son, James Edgar Ablowich, in 1984.
