St. Nazianz – Mrs. Magdalene Brost, 74, passed away Monday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Koenig, Newton, Route 1, in the town of Meeme, where she had made her home the past three years.
Mrs. Brost, nee Magdalene Stein was born in the town of Meeme on Sept. 20, 1863. She was married to Nick Brost, also of the town of Meeme, in St. Fidelis church in Spring Valley on Sept. 11, 1883. For many years they engaged in farming.
She is survived by five children, Mrs. Joseph Gries, Sherwood, Mrs. Peter Gries, Colby, Herman, Milwaukee, Mrs. Peter Koenig, town of Meeme, and Barry, Sheboygan, one brother, Joseph of St. Wendel and one sister, Mrs. Gust Woelfel of Chilton. Twenty-eight grandchildren also survive.
Her husband preceded her in death 22 years ago. Three sons, Joe, Peter and John and a brother and two sisters also died previously.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at Holy Trinity church in School Hill. The Rev. Arnulf, S.D.S. will officiate and interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. Mrs. Brost was a member of the Christian Mothers society of Trinity church, the members of which will attend the funeral services in a body.
