Edith Brummer Sapirman was the daughter of Hyman (Herman) Brummer and his wife Jennie (née Swarz) Brummer. The family, from the city of Krakow (now in Poland), came to America about 1892-95. Edith married Louis Sapirman on 3 January 1909 in New York City. Louis died in 1944, and Edith lived for 12 more years before she died on 6 October 1956 at the age of 63. She was buried just a few graves away from her husband in Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, Queens, New York.

Edith and Louis were the parents of:

Rose "Ruth" Sapirman Cintron (1909-1993)
Irving Sapirman (1911-1985)
Elias "Eli" Sapirman (1914-1984)
Miriam "Mimi" Sapirman Horlick (1916-1995)
Nathaniel "Nat" Sapirman (1926-1969)
