Jean Pennington, age 78, of Highway 421 N, Mountain City, passed away, Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Jean was born on August 14, 1928 in West Virginia to the late Albert and Maggie Tucker Snow. Jean enjoyed traveling as a military wife for 26 years, 3 months, and 4 days. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Snow and Walt Snow.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James V. Pennington, Jr.; son, Tim Pennington and wife DeAnna of Abingdon; brother, Jake Snow of Sunnyville, CA; grandsons, Matthew Pennington and wife Billie of Mountain City; two great grandsons, Cody Humphrey, and Josh Humphrey; great granddaughter, Hallie McCloud; and one niece, Barbara Snow of Sunnyville, CA.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Mountain City Funeral Home with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Meadows officiating. The interment service will be private.
The family will also receive friends at the home, 2149 Highway 421 N., Mountain City
