"Funeral Is Held At Rothville for Mrs. Bert Smith"
"Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Maria Smith, 75, Mendon, who died Friday at Doctors' Hospital in Brookfield, were held at the Rothville Methodist Church Sunday, with burial at the Rothville cemetery.
Mrs. Smith is survived by a son and two daughters. They are Ernest Bert Smith, 420 South Clark street, Moberly; Mrs. Lela Riddell of Mendon; and Mrs. Louise Holloway of Brookfield. Other relatives include a brother, Albert Charles Tallcott of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 10, 1882, the daughter of William and Mary Tallcott, near Mendon. In March of 1883, she moved with her parents to a farm near Rothville, where she lived until her marriage to Bert E. Smith, of Indian Grove, on Sept. 10, 1903. she had been a member of the Rothville Methodist Church since childhood. Her husband died in May, 1947, and she had lived near Mendon since November, 1948."
