Christina Hauser was the second of ten known children of Heinrich (or Johan Heinrich?) Hauser (1754-1821) and Catherina Hoehns (later became Hanes) Hauser (1754-1818), who married 15 Aug 1775 in North Carolina.

Christina married Philip Rothrock (1776-1858) on 20 Mar 1800 at Friedberg, then on the border of Stokes and Davidson (present day border of Forsyth and Davidson) Counties, North Carolina. Philip and Christina were the parents of seven known children, six girls and one boy. The eldest child, a baby girl, died young. In 1844 the parents and many of the children, left North Carolina for the Moravian outpost at West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois.
