Polly was the sixth of seven known children of Philip Rothrock (1776-1858) and Christina Hauser Rothrock (1777-1855), who married 20 Mar 1800 at Friedberg, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. The family moved to the Moravian community of West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois in 1843.
Polly married Joseph Nading on 30 Oct 1834 at Lewisville, present day Forsyth County, North Carolina. The family moved to the Moravian community of West Salem, Edwards County, Illinois in 1843 along with Polly's parents and many of her siblings. In 1865 the widow Polly was living at Wabash County, Illinois and in the late 1870's she moved to Crockett County, Texas with her eldest daughter, Louisa Nading Leediker. Polly and Joseph were the parents of seven known children, four boys and three girls, namely:
1. Louisa Josephine Nading Leediker (1836-1910)
2. Susanna Constantina Nading Stahl Hossel (1838-1907)
3. Romulus Edmund Nading (1840-1922)
4. Julius Edwin Nading (1841-1913)
5. Francis E. Nading (1844-1926)
6. Joseph Augustus Nading (1846-1913)
7. Sarah Jane Nading Glick (1850-1936)
