Julius Edwin Nading was the fourth of seven known children of Joseph Nading (1811-1862) and Mary Rothrock (1812-1880), who married 30 Oct 1834 at the Lewisville Settlement, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.
Julius first married to Roxy Ann Tucker (c1842-???) on 19 Jan 1865 at Edwards County, Illinois. Julius and Roxy were the parents of one known child, namely:
1. Lula Jane Nading Pritchett (???-???)
Lula was said to be adopted by a neighboring family after Roxy died. In 1870 a Julia A. Nading, age 4, born in Illinois, was living with the John S. Tucker (b. 1810 in Kentucky) and his family at Edwards County, Illinois. Was this Lula Jane? Was John her grandfather?
In 1870 Julius was living with the Charles L. Poole family in Wabash County, Illinois at Mt. Carmel Precinct and working in a saloon.
After Roxy died, Julius remarried to Martha F. Cantwell on 22 Sep 1872 at Wabash County, Illinois. Nothing is known of Martha, and it is not known if Martha had any children. In 1879 a J.E. Nading was a taxpayer in Hood County, Texas. Was this Julius?
In 1891 Julius married Georgia Hill (b. 1871 in Missouri, d. 1956). In 1900 Julius, Georgia, and one child:
2. Walter B. Nading (1891-1980)
were living at Dennison, Grayson County, Texas with a niece, Luella Hotchkin (b. Apr 1872 in IT) and her family. In 1910 the widower Julius (listed as J.E. Nading) and his widowed niece, J.A. Nading (age 39, born MO; father born TN) were living at Dennison, Grayson County, Texas with Julius listed as a merchant.
Does anyone know any additional information on this family?
