Married Henry Anderson Hatfield on 21 Jan 1860 in Parke County, Indiana.

Elizabeth and Henry had 11 children although only 2 survived to adulthood. There is no proof, although some of her children may have died from cystic fibrosis as there deaths were all listed as whooping cough even though they all died at different times.

According to family legend, Elizabeth died in January 1875 of a miscarriage caused by pulling a cow out of a muddy swamp.
