Georgina Burke (nee McGarry) died September 29, 2010.

One of eight children of the late Emily and James McGarry. Born December 13, 1915.

She was the loving wife of the late Francis Burke and adoring mother of the late Kenneth and Robert James Burke. She is survived by her loving sister Marjorie Daley, cherished grandchildren Meghan Burke, Martin Burke, Kara Minson and Kerin Wood. Mother-inlaw of Myra Burke. Great grandmother to Eily and Alanna Priest, Robert and Patrick Burke, Colter, Karleigh, and Camden Minson.

Georgina was a communicant of St. Barnabas Parish for over sixty-seven years. She lived in the Woodlawn section of The Bronx and worked for more than twenty-five years for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. with her retirement in 1978. She spent the last two years in St. Patrick Home for the Aged. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and friendly manner.

Her family will be receiving friends at David J. Hodder & Son Funeral Home on Sunday, October 3, 2010 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. There will be a celebration of her life held in St. Barnabas Church on Monday, October 4, 2010 at 9:45 a.m.
She will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.
