Obit#2: PIONEER CITIZEN BURIED IN EL PASO, MONDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Mae Peake, who died at the home of her duaghter, Mrs. Lottie Cellum, at Clint, Tex., last Saturday night, Feburary 6th, were held in El Paso Monday afternoon, at 1 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Hunter Lewis, of Mesilla Park. Interment in the Concordia cemetery.
Mrs. Peake and her twin sister, Mrs. Belle Billings were very well known in Las Cruces and vicinity. Coming here with their husbands more than forty years ago, were among the pioneers of this vicinity. They both survived their husbands by a number of years, and of late years have been living at the home of Mrs. Peakes daughter, Mrs. Cellum, in Clint, Texas. Mrs. Billings died last February, 26th, and it was thought that grief for her sister caused the death of Mrs. Peake, as she has gradually grown weaker since that time. They were born at Camden, Maine, January 15, 1839, and had the distinction of being the eldest twins in Texas at the time of Mrs. Billings death.
