"Charles W. Crittenden, son of James H. and Eliza J. Crittenden, was born 6 September 1891 in Huntsville, Ontario. He got his education at Brown Hill School. Charlie, his mother and sisters came west to the Imperial district in the fall of 1906. His father and brother Orin, had come earlier in the year and his father homesteaded on the NE 36-27-26 W2. They came west by train to Davidson and were picked up there by a team, making the trip in a wagon. Charlie homesteaded the NW 31-27-25 W2 in 1909."
