At his home in this village, Sunday, Oct 4, 1914, Isaac Cornell passed away after a lingering illness, aged 70 years. Mr. Cornell's health had been such for many months that to his family and friends his recovery was doubtful, though through his entire illness he retained hope. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon from his late residence on Satate Street. Mr. Cornell was a Knight Templar and Shriner and the funeral will be according to rites of the Masonic order.

Isaac Cornell was born at Farmersville, Ont. Canada in 1844. In October, 1865, just forty-nine years ago the present month, he came to Canton as a journeyman blacksmith and entered the employ of Ezra D. Jackson and Vertulon Sheldon who conducted a blacksmith business in a shop on Water Street. For the entire remainder of his life, or up to the time of his recent illness, he continued in this shop, first as an employee but later as the owner. For a number of years associated in the business with him was his son, Ethan A, the firm name being Cornell & Cornell.

Some time after Mr. Cornell came to Canton he returned to Canada and was joined in marriage with two sons, Ethan A. and Frank survives him.

Mr. Cornell was a man of fine, frank, open nature. He had many friends who will remember him with findly feelings and sorrow at his going hence.
