FAWN
John Foster Beckwith, 82, of Fawn, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday (March 30, 1995) in Highlands Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Brackenridge.
Born Feb. 16, 1913, in Tarentum, he lived in the Valley all his life.
Mr. Beckwith worked in the No. 11 department at Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corp., Brackenridge Works, before retiring in 1975.
He was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Fawn.
Mr. Beckwith enjoyed playing guitar, singing and baseball.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Jane Wonderling Beckwith, a son, Lonnie J. Beckwith of Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Judy M. Baker of Brackenridge and Mrs. John (Darla) Kelly of Fawn, 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (May) Ankrom of Washington, Pa., and Mrs. Paul (Dorothy) Rieger, of Fawn.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Loy E. and Gary Beckwith; his parents, Albert A. and Ethel Foster Beckwith; and a stepbrother, James Body.
Friends will be received from noon to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Robert Peters Funeral Home Inc., 1521 Freeport Road, Natrona Heights, Harrison, where services
will be at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Darlene Ryniec, associate pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Natrona Heights, will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
