Rhythm and Blues Singer. For three years, he was the lead singer for the R&B group "Billy Ward and His Dominoes". He left in 1953 to form "The Drifters", only to be drafted into the U.S. Army in 1954 where he entertained fellow servicemen. Such work prompted a solo career which lasted until the mid-1960s.
