Miss Eva Bishop, a Wellington resident for more than 55 years, died in Collingsworth County Hospital at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, July 14, after an illness of 5 months.

For more than 20 years, she had been associated with Mrs. Pearl Aaron in her catering business. Widely known and respected in the community, Miss Bishop was especially popular with the organizations with which she was in regular contact. Her talent for her work was recognized not only locally, but by visitors from a wide area who have attended dinner functions at the community building.

Miss Bishop was born April 9, 1906 , in Denver, the daughter of the late J. M. and Eliza Emsey Bishop. The family came to Collingsworth County in 1916 from Simpson, Oklahoma.

She had been a member of the Nazarene Church since early in life.

Funeral services were conducted at the Church of the Nazarene at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Ervin Emmert, pastor, officiating.

Pallbearers were Rodell Byers, Harry Patterson, Clarence Littleton, Robert Posey, Buster Bounds, George Scott, Otis Emmert and Frank Falk.

Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Zeffie Jett of Shamrock, Mrs. Rosa Trimble of Elk City, Oklahoma and Miss Dona Bishop, and one brother Oran Bishop.
