She was 76 years and six months of age.
Mrs. Cochran, the daughter of Josiah and Sarah Melissa Stolebarger, was born in Unionville, Mo., Augurst 21, 1888. Her life was spent near Sharon, Kansas, where she attended the public schools and was married to George Washington Cochran in 1905. Mr. Cochran died in 1945.
Mrs. Cochran lived in the Douglass community since coming here in 1920. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She was also a past noble grand of the Rebekah Lodge and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
She is survved by two daughters, Mrs. Nolan King of San Dimas, Calif., Mrs. Robert (Zina) Wright of Augusta; one son, Floyd Glenn of Douglass. One other son, Raymond, died as a child. Other survivors include four sisters; Sarah Harmer of Loomis, Calif., Leila Dunkin of Sharon, Kansas,, Goldie Benefiel of Medicine Lodge, Kan., and Zenith Biberstein of Attica, Kan.; four brothers; Ed of Silverton, Ore., Joe of Two Buttes, Colo., William Dewey of Gasseville, Ark., and Everett of Kiowa, Kansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church in Douglass, February 22, and burial was in the Douglass Cemetery. Hilyard Funeral Home had charge.
Rev. Maurice Bigger conducted the services. Pallbearers were Glen Duryea, Raymond Duryea, Virgil Smith, Austin Smith, Raymond Essex and J. A. Perisho.
