Glenn Floyd Cochran, 59, retired Mobil employee, died Friday after a lingering illness at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita.
Services were held Sunday afternoon at 2;00 p.m. in the Hilyard Funeral Home Capel in Douglass.
Born in Sharon, Kansas, September 4, 1912, the son of George and Alice (Stolebarger) Cochran, he came with his parents to Douglass
in 1924 where he had resided most of his lifetime since and graduated from the Douglass High School. For a period of two years during World War IIIhe was with the U. S. Navy stationed in the South Pacific.
After twenty-nine years of service, he retired from the Mobil refinery in November because of ill health. He was a member of the Christian Church of Douglass, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars and Local Union 5-246.
Survivors include his widow, June; one son, Gerrald of Derby, two daughters, Mrs. Judity Hazen of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Jan Chinn of Douglass, and seven grandchildren. There are two sisters, Mrs. Zina Wright of Augusta and Mrs. Lucille King of Los Angeles, California.
Memorial funds have been established with the Leukemia and Cancer societies.
Mrs. J. A. Perisho sang, accompanied by Mrs. J. C. Seal on the organ. Rev. Coin Rees officiated at the services.
Bearers were Robert Hunter, Howard Holliday, R. O. Huddleston, G. R. Mabry, Delmar Gaskell, and John Hine,
Interment was in the Douglas Cemetery, Hilyard Funeral Home in charge.
