Professional Football Player. He was the elusive Oklahoma University halfback who won the 1952 Heisman Trophy. He was also named a 1952 All-American. A leg injury ended his brief professional career with the Baltimore Colts and the Canadian Football League. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame.

He worked for the Mackle family during the time of the abduction of Barbara Jane Mackles in 1968, and played an integral part in the events of her case.
